Description: The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a sole source firm fixed price contract to Rolls Royce Corporation for seventeen T56-A-427A engines to be furnished as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) required for Pilot Production and Limited Rate Initial Production FY10, FY11, and FY12 E-2D Aircraft, to include engineering support. NAVAIR intends to issue this procurement on a sole source basis with Rolls Royce Corporation of Indianapolis, Indiana, as Rolls Royce is the sole engine manufacturer of the T56-A-427A turbo propeller engine and is the only source that possesses the knowledge, experience, and technical data necessary to provide the required engines.
