- The U.S. Department of Energy intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to Peter Schwartz & Associates under 41USC252(c)(1), one responsible source. The estimated value of the award is $50,000.00. The contractor will provide continued support for a pilot (demonstration) project for demand response technologies and assessment of the California Energy Commission (CEC) Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) Program energy research activities and new technology development to determine suitability for inclusion in the FEMP list of high priority technologies. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitve proposals. Firms who want to challenge the award must submit an interest letter that demonstrates the firm's ability to provide the services listed above. Interested parties must provide a price proposal and rationale as to why they should be considered. All interested firms must respond by 5:0p.m. EST, within ten(10) days of this notice. to Annette Brown, MA-641.2, 1000 Independence Avenue, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20585. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See Note (22)
