Description

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award under a sole source basis to College of American Pathologist, SNOMED International Division, 325 Waukegan Rd., Northfield, IL 60093, a Multi-Site license to use "SNOMEDDQUT, a data system nomenclature and classification of medical terms and codes in machine-readable format for reporting of cancer data from pathology laboratories. Quotations are solicited from any source that has similar capabilities to provide the required service. Other than full and open competition is authorized pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253 ? (1). Qualified vendors have fifteen (15) days from the date of this synopsis to submit capability statements delineating the ability to provide this license. The authority for this procurement is FAR Part 6.302-1. The anticipated award date is April 2, 2006. This is not a request for competitive proposal and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the requirement are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the contracting office within 15 days from the date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
