Description

Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to BAE Systems, 11487 Sunset Hills Road, Reston, VA 21090. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Proced ures (SAP)  only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. BAE Systems is the only manufacturer and distributor of Socet Set software for Upgrade Entitlement (UE), required by the BuckEye system used by ER DC. The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities/qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 1530 hrs Central Time Zone on 07 Mar 2006. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full an d open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
