- Description
- Modification to the above Pre-solicitation is as follows: geographical restriction is 75 miles from home port verses 25 miles from home port. This is a notice of intent that the United States Coast Guard, Maintenance and Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 for a sole source contract with Deytens Shipyards, Inc. to : REMOVE/INSPECT NR1 AND NR2 CONTROLLABLE PITCH PROPELLER (CPP) BLADES, REPLACE ONE CPP HUB ASSY, REMOVE AND INSPECT NR2 TAIL AND INTERMEDIATE PROPULSION SHAFTS, INSPECT NR2 STRUT(S) & SHAFT BEARINGS (REPLACE AS NEEDED), SERVICE BOTH CPP HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS. The U.S. Coast Guard issued a sources sought synopsis (Reference number-DRYDOCKGALLATIN, Posted January 19, 2006, Response Date 24 January 2006) to which they received no responses. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement within 5 days of this notice. The approximate issue date for the solicitation will be 22 February 2006. The place of performance will be at the contractor?s facility within the geographically restricted area. This vessel is geographically restricted to a commercial yard within 25 miles of homeport. Vessel's availability schedule is for eleven (11) calendar days starting March 27, 2006. The work will include, but is not limited to: (1) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shaft; (2) Renew Shaft Bearings; (3) Service Both Onboard Controllable Pitch Propeller Systems; (4) Renew Port Controllable Pitch Propeller Hub; (5) Drydocking; (6) Provide Temporary Logistics. The only known source to the Government for the drydock of the USCGC GALLATIN within the Geographical Restriction is Deytens Shipyard, Inc. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish a welding and brazing. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be provided free of charge to contractors upon request. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.TIF, *.TIF (group4), *.DWG, and *.DWF, etc.). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U. S. Coast Guard, MLCA, for each set of requested drawings. Requests for U.S. Coast Guard specification referenced drawings (CD or hardcopy) must be made within three (3) days from the solicitation issuance date.
