- This notice is to inform Industry that the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD, Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA209), desires to continue its exchanges with industry in its planning of the Common Avionics Display (CAD) Acquisition. A follow-up to Industry Day will be held on 30 March 2006 from 8:00 AM until approximately 4:00 PM at the Four Points Sheraton BWI Airport Hotel which is located at 7032 Elm Road, Baltimore, MD. Shuttle bus service is provided from the airport terminal. The agenda for this session is as follows: Registration (0800-0845); Adminstrative items and introductions (0845-0900); Review CAD program schedule and updates (0900-0915); Platform briefings from MV-22B, E-2D (0915-1015); Break (1015-1030); Working session on performance parameters (1030-1215); Lunch (1215-1315); Continue working session on performance parameters (1315-1500). An initial Industry Day was held on 15 December 2005. This included a full day of CAD technical programmatic presentations, a question and answer period and a working group discussion. 85 people attended, which included representatives from 37 companies. A follow-on to the initial Industry Day was held on 25 January. This included the CAD Working Group overview; Platform Brief from AH-1Z/UH-1Y and HLR; Notional CAD Development Schedule; Display Performance Parameters; Life Cycle Cost Model/Discussion; and Open Discussion on Commonality Objectives. Interested parties should periodically check the PMA-209 website, http://pma209.navair.navy.mil/teams/missionSystems/ccs/home.asp for updated information on CAD. Pre-registration for the Industry Session to be held 30 March is required. For reservations, e-mail Soya Clapp - soya@usdc.org with the following information: name, company, address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail. Respondents should indicate whether they are a small business (S), a small disadvantaged business (SDB), an 8(a) firm, or a large business (L). The U.S. Displays Consortium (USDC) will provide support for these Industry sessions. USDC is an industry-led, public/private partnership providing a common platform for flat panel display manufacturers and developers, FPD users, and the supplier base.
