- Scope of Work There are three different projects contained in this construction bid package. Each is listed separately. Base Bid One: Repair of deteriorating steps on Building D-9 Repair the deteriorated concrete, landing and steps on the east side of dorms J, K, L and N, as indicated. For minor spalling use the following procedures. Chip off exposed surfaces to a minimum depth of one inch. Sandblast or chemically clean exposed surfaces. Using a non-stick, non-metallic epoxy grout, fill areas to match existing surfaces. [approximately 240 linear feet] For substantial spalling, use the following procedures. Using a concrete saw, cut out damaged areas of concrete. Sandblast or chemically clean exposed areas. If slab is reinforced, add new reinforcement to match existing. For small areas [two linear feet or less], fill the cut out area with non-shrink, non-metallic epoxy grout and finish to match existing surfaces. [approximately 100 square feet] For large areas [two linear feet or greater], fill cut out area with a minimum of 3000 psi concrete and finish to match existing surfaces. [approximately 30 square feet] For cracks use the following procedure. Chip our concrete along crack to a one inch maximum width. Sandblast or chemically clean exposed areas. Inject non-shrink, non metallic epoxy grout into entire cavity. [approximately 40 linear feet] Base Bid Two: Construct permanent roof access to mechanical equipment on Building D-9. Provide new UL listed roof hatch and safety ladder and install at northwest corner of the center standards office located in Building D-9. Patch and repair roof as required to insure integrity and preserve the warranty. Provide walking pads, as necessary, to protect roof surface. [Approximate size of roof hatch is 3’0 x 4’0. Safety ladder is approximately 20 linear feet with intermediate platform. Roof repair is approximately 30 square feet.] Base Bid Three: Air conditioning for recreation and arts & crafts area. Provide and install the following. 1. Two evaporative coolers, each with a capacity of 2,000 cfm in the arts and crafts area. 2. Two relief fans with a capacity of 1,500 cfm in the arts and crafts area. 3. One ¾ ton window air conditioning unit for the manager’s office. 4. Power connections for each area. A construction bid package has been prepared for this project. Interested parties should contact me and I will get one to you.
