- This is a combined synopsis/notice of intent for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This requirement is being issued as a Request for Quotes under RFQ6026. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 05-08. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219 and the Small Business Size Standard is $6.0million. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has a requirement to procure maintenance service contract on 3 Leica Confocal Microscopes 1) Confocal SP1 RGBB+ serial number 175008 2) Confocal SP2 AOBS UV serial number 195131, 3) Confocal SP2 AOBS 405 serial number 1424000246. The service contract shall be for a twelve month period. The service contract shall cover the following services per each microscope: 1) One planed maintenance inspection per service period unless otherwise specified; 2) Availability of maintenance service for equipment during normal workdays, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. On call service performed from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.; 3) All labor and travel expenses associated with repair or replacement of parts covered under service contract; 4) Parts replacement as required on an exchange or new part basis, excluding consumables and objectives; 5) Trained and certified service representatives to perform axial resolution measurements as well as laser power measurements to confirm optimum system performance; 6) Coverage for HeNe 633, 543, 594, and Ar458/488/514 lasers; 7) Toll free expert engineering and applications support provided; 8) UV and 405 couplings, fibers, lens wheels, AOTF and labor and travel expenses associated with the repair and alignment of the UV and 405 ready components; 9) IR couplings, fibers, NDD detectors, IR filter wheel, IR EOM and labor /travel expenses associated with the repair and alignment of the IR ready components. The following Evaluation Criteria will be used to evaluate offers: a) Price; b) Technical and Professional ability to meet the government needs of the service contract; c) Delivery of requested services. The FOB Point shall be Destination, Bethesda, Maryland, 20892. The government will award a firm fixed price purchase order to the responsible contractor. All responses will be considered by the agency.
