Description
The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Station Support/Simplified Acquisitions (SS/SA) Branch on behalf of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Intrinsic Technologies LLC., 1022 Warrenville Road Suite 155, Lisle, IL 60532 for additional services under NIDA purchase order 263-MI-605825. The services are to install MS SMS, Vintela VMX, and 1E SMS Wakeup on the designated NINDS servers, workstations and to ensure that installation works across the NINDS network in other remote locations. Intrinsic Technologies, LLC will also deploy agents to all designated workstations across the network, training appropriate Government network staff on the full use of the software. Intrinsic Technologies, LLC is the only member company of the SMS Alliance (Partner of Microsoft specializing in SMS related software) which provides installation/implementation services for all products of the SMS Alliance-IE, IAnywhere, Vintela as well as Microsoft products. The vendor has the most experience with SMS technology outside the Microsoft environment. The advantages to the usage of the SMS Alliance include the usage of combined resources of companies that integrate with all SMS products and services. The contractor has a thorough knowledge of Network Systems Analysis, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, UNIX operating systems, Linux operating systems, Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003, Vintela VMX, 1E SMS Wakeup, and iAnywhere Blackberry Management. These services will utilize the software currently maintained by the Government and not require an additional software investment. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
