Description
U.S. GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION HEATING OPERATION & TRANSMISSION DIVISION CENTRAL HEATING & REFRIGERATION PLANT COAL YARD SUMP PUMP BACK-UP SYSTEM INSTALLATION: This is amendment number #1 During the pre-bid conference that took place on March 9, 2006 10:00 am at: 13th & C Streets, S.W. Washington, DC 20407 There were a few changes to the solicitation that needs to be made public. That are outlined as follows. Section 1.2.1 (Pump Capability): Contractors must submit a cut sheet for the type of pump he/she intents to install with the bid package Section 1.2.2 (Pump Location) paragraph 2: The lining of the pump pit must be lined with concrete or another material that must be approved by the government prior to install (eg. fiberglass) Section 1.2.2 (Pump Location) paragraph 3: The contractor must submit a cut sheet with the type of grating he/she intends to install with the bid package Section 1.2.3 (Piping) paragraph 1: The contractor must REMOVE and replace approximately 500 linear feet of 4-inch schedule 40 steel pipe. The length of pipe includes the existing main discharge line which runs along the oil tank containment wall, through the alley, into the building, and into the main sump discharge location Section 1.2.3 (Piping) new paragraph: The contractor must insulate and heat trace the newly install lengths of pipe and must be finished with aluminum jacket. The contractor must reuse the existing angle iron along the oil tank containment wall but new supports should be installed as necessary to provide adequate support for the newly installed length of pipe Section 1.2.4 (Electrical Power Supply): The available power source is 3 phase 208 volts. The panel located on the gas compressor room is the expected power source, NOT the power source located in the alley Sections 2.2.2 and 2.2.4 can be omitted for bidding purposes as well as any references to the economizer Further it should be noted that the completion date for this project is 90 days from the notice to proceed. Bids are still expected on March 23, 2006 1:00PM
