- Description
- The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Special Operations Acquisition and Logistics Center, Directorate of Procurement intends to award sole source contract to Nordic Ammunition Company (NAMMO), Nammo Raufoss, N-2831 Raufoss, Norway in accordance with FAR 6.302-1; (10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1)), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. A firm fixed price time and materials contract type is planned with a minimum of 200 each 70-millimeter (mm) multipurpose penetrator (MPP) rounds. The procurement action will also require testing support and potential development of a 70mm MPP training warhead. USSOCOM desires the acquisition of 70mm MPP warheads for use on the 2.75 inch Hydra rocket. The intent is to qualify a MPP warhead that provides an improved capability against an array of hardened targets (concrete /earth & timber bunkers) over the current arsenal. The 70mm MPP is a derivative of the NAMMO RA79 warhead, originally designed as an anti-shipping missile for the armed forces of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The design features that provide effectiveness against lightly-to-medium armored targets, also makes it a capable system against concrete and earth & timber bunkers. Delivery is expected on a FOB Destination basis. The Government does not own current data, drawings, or other specifications to permit full and open competition. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal in writing that may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement make contact with the firm(s) listed. Number note 22 applies. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (13-MAR-2006); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
