- Description
- The Internal Revenue Service intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Long Island Technical Inc (LIT), 626 Merrick Road, Lynbrook, NY 15630, pursuant to Part 6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Services are being solicited and awarded as commercial item in accordance with FAR 13.5 for the acquisition of software update, maintenance, and repair or replacement to touch response machines on a stand alone information kiosk with network capabilities that were developed and installed for IRS by LIT. It owns the proprietary software and content modules that centrally manages 15 government kiosks. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) kiosks are stand-alone information systems that provide customers with simple, self-assisted service without the assistance or guidance of a face-to-face assistor. All the kiosks provide current and prior year Federal tax forms and answers to many frequently asked questions in English and other languages, or, where permitted, offer state tax information. The service is for a base period from 04/01/2006 through 12/31/2006 with two 12-month option periods. This synopsis is a notice of intent to issue an award under other than full and open competition and should not be considered a request for competitive proposals. However, interested small businesses may submit a description of their capabilities to perform within 15 days of this notice and the submission will be considered. The determination of the Government not to open subject requirement to full and open competition was made IAW FAR 6.302-1 (b) (2) and 41 USC 253 (C) (1) and is solely at the discretion of the Government. Award is anticipated on or about March 31, 2006.
