Description
Questions and answers in reference to combined synopsis/Solicitation. The GSM cellular phones: Question 1: How many phones are in place today and what type of plans do they each have? Answer 1: 300 cellular phones are in place under a special plan (private network that incorporates cell phone with the lease lines. Question 2: Who is/are the incumbent carrier(s) used by the Embassy? Answer2: The carrier at post in Telemovil (TIGO) Question 3: Does the government have a requirement for smart phones, PDAS or blackberries? Answer 3: No, The requirement is spelled out in the combined synopsis/solicitation. Question 4: Do certain phones need to be secure?(ie Sectera) Answer 4: See answer 3. Micro cells: Question 5: What is the capacity of each device (no. of channels)? Answer 5: Must be able to handle all cellular (official and personal) phones in the building. Approximate number of channels is 12. Question 6: Is there a suggested Manufacturer reference part no. or equivalent? Answer 6: No recommendation will be provided by the USG, this is the contractor’s responsibility to propose the information that will meet the requirement. Question 7: What are the specific band frequencies required for the Microcells? Answer 7: That is the band width at which the companies transmit and receive. Current situation is that four companies operate in three bands, 850/900/1900 Mhz. Question 8: Is this a new requirement, if so what is the incumbent contractor name, contract number, dollar value and award date? Answer 8: This is a new requirement. Purchase orders are being issued for each separate service. This contract will combine all services under one contract. Question 9: Under the statement of work/specification the duration of the contract is base year and two one year options. Immediately above the same field there is an indication that the duration is base year plus four one year options, what is the period of performance? Answer 9: One 12 month base year and two 12 month options.See amendment to the synopsis solicitation. Question 10: My Company has a cell phone service that I feel would be a useful tool for cell phone users, please review the information provided. Answer 10: The government will award this contract based on proposals submitted for all of the services required in the combined synopsis/solicitations. At this time no evaluation or review will be made on product literature. Question 11: Is this a new requirement? Answer 11: See answer number 8. Question 12: Where is the pre proposal conference on 1/10/06? Answer 12: Please read the combined synopsis/ solicitation under pre-proposal conference, the location is listed. es will be provided by the vendor. Q24. Will the Embassy of the United States be able to contract partial services or total services for DVC ISDN and IP? A24. See amendment 03. Q25. For Digital Video Conferencing (DVC)/IP, will the Embassy need only 512K Internet access or it also needs the MCU platform (MCU: Multi-Conference Unit)? A25 Current Interface is BRI N/T. Six ISDN BRI would be required. Current infrastructure supports DVC via ISDN. Q26. Which are the CODEC of video and voice for Digital Video Conferencing (DVC)/IP necessaries? A26.
