Description

The USDA, Agricultural Research Serivce, Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center, Clay Center, NE requires one new Thermo Electron KingFisher 96 Magnetic Particle Processor or equal. The SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS are: (1) must be an innovatice automated system for purifying, separating and processing nucleic acids or proteins and also for separating different types of cells. (2) Must be able to process up to 96 samples at a time. (3) Must be able to be used with numerous commercially available magnetic particle based kits for the purfication of genomic DNA, plasmid DNA, total RNA, mRNA, and PCR products from a variety of starting matrices(including tissue, cells, hair, bone, feces, encironmental samples, plants, seeds, bacteria, paraffin embedded tissues, etc). This acquisition is being conducted on a Commercial Items Best Value Basis. Evaluation criteria in no order of preference are price, technical capability and past performance. This is a cascade solicitation that is 100% set-aside for small business (fewer than 500 employees). In the event no reasonable offers are received from responsible small business, then offers from large businesses will be considered.
