- Description
- This procurement is set aside for Small Business Concerns Only. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to issue a firm fixed price purchase order. The purchase order will cover the dry dock repairs of NOAA Ship Laurentian. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform the following (including, but not limited to): Base Items - Drydocking and Routine Drydocking Work, Temporary Services, Underwater Hull Painting, Waterline to Bulwark Painting, Ultrasonic Hull Gauge Testing, Remove Rudder and Shaft, Repair Controllable Pitch Propeller, Zinc Anode Replacement, , Hull Valve Overhaul and Test, Keel Cooler Servicing, and Installation of Transducer. Additional option items will be included for growth work (labor hours and material). The performance period is 21 calendar days, with an anticipated start date of May 1, 2006 and completion date of May 22, 2006. Anticipated award date is April 17, 2006. Site/inspection period is set for March 20-24, 2006. Arrangements to attend site visits shall be coordinated with the Dennis Donahue, Marine Superintendent, at 231-755-5173. The Laurentian is 80 feet long and its homeport is 1431 Beach St, Muskegon, MI 49441. It is NOAAs intent to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. This procurement is being issued as a 100% Small Business set-aside in accordance with FAR 52.219-6. The NAIC code is 336611 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. The simplified acquisition will be issued based on price and price related factors (cost to transit), on or about March 21, 2006 with quotes due on or about April 11, 2006. Quotes may be submitted via e-mail to Ms. Sampson. The RFQ will be issued via electronic posting at Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPPS) web page www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the RFQ will not be issued. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor FEDBIZOPS for the release of the RFQ, specification, drawings and all subsequent amendments.
