Description
NOAA's Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary located in Monterey, CA has a requirement for Technical and Analytical Support for Environmental Policy. Background The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS) provides resource protection through management, research, and education programs that foster public understanding and stewardship of this nationally significant marine ecosystem. The Sanctuary coordinates and participates in resource protection initiatives on a broad array of issues, including ecosystem protection, water quality, coastal development, and wildlife disturbance. To assist in these efforts, the Sanctuary requires technical and policy services for evaluating and addressing coastal development issues focused on addressing coastal erosion and maintaining beach width, and on desalination. These activities will continue and build upon initiatives outlined in the Sanctuary?s existing management plan and in the Sanctuary?s Joint Management Plan Review (JMPR). The MBNMS has other resource protection staff and contractors, so the contractor will be expected to interact with that existing team. Objectives The objectives of this contract are to provide technical analyses and program coordination for the staff of the MBNMS on the topics of coastal erosion and desalination. The period of performance is 12 months from date of an award. This notice may represent the only official notice. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000. All responsive and responsible bids may be submitted. Request the, Request for Quotations in writing to melvin.n.fondue@noaa.gov.
