- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center has a requirement for receiving, disassembly, inspection, overhaul reassembly, painting, testing, preservation, packaging, and marking in accordance with USCG ELC Specification No. P-233-0477 dated 02/06 on the following : NSN 2815-12-348-2440- MTU Model 8 V 396 TE 94 Marine Diesel Engine, QTY 1 EA. This engine is the main propulsion unit installed on the 87 FT WPB Marine Protector Class Vessel. Delivery shall be required 95 days after contract award. Delivery will be F.O.B. Destination to the Receiving Room, Bldg. 88, U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. It is the Government’s belief that only Motoren-und-Turbinen-Union Friedrichshafen (MTU), the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), can provide the standardization of parts required to overhaul the engine to insure compatibility and interchangeability with existing equipment. Technical data and/or drawings pertaining to the special tools and equipment required to manufacture the various parts are not available within the Government and are proprietary to the Original Equipment Manufacturer. Detroit Diesel, Inc. is the authorized U.S. licensee for MTU Motoren of Friedrichshafen, Germany. However, other potential sources having the expertise and required capabilities can submit such data discussing the same in duplicate within 15 days from the date of this announcement. The following information must be provided to evaluate the acceptability of the offered parts: 1) Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability of the offered parts (i.e. salient physical, functional, and serviceability characteristics, or 2) Data that offered parts have been satisfactorily manufactured for the Government or the original equipment manufacturer. No cost or pricing data is required. See Numbered Note 22. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the agency.
