Description
SOURCES SOUGHT FIREARMS TRAINING SIMULATOR This is not a request for proposal. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and should not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. Reimbursement will not be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests. The 97th Contracting Squadron, Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma is looking for sources that can meet the specifications below for a FIREARMS TRAINING SIMULATOR. All companies that are capable of providing equipment are encouraged to provide lead-time requirements, product brochures, company capabilities, and any other information that the Government should consider. All responses are due to the 97th Contracting Squadron, by COB, 30 March 2006 (CST). All information in response to this sources sought announcement shall be mailed to: Altus AFB 2LT Jared Jackson 303 J Ave Bldg 302, Altus AFB, OK 73523. e-mailed or faxed to the same by 30 Mar 06. The following is Basic description of the requirement: Altus AFB is seeking a company to furnish, install, and train on a new firearm-training simulator for use at Altus Air Force Base. Companies are invited to make oral presentations and functional demonstrations as well (on or before 30 March) if desired. The Firearms Training simulator is designed for use as a unit and indoor, multipurpose, multilane, small arms, group and individual training simulations. The trainer safely replicates weapons training events and contributes to increase airman, squad and commander combat effectiveness. At a minimum the simulator will provide training in three modes of operation: marksmanship training, squad based tactics and shoot don?t shoot decision-making. The trainer should have specific scenarios for Military use. The trainer will effectively simulate the same physical, functional, operational characteristics and casualty producing effects of the actual service weapons. All training performance data is recorded and stored on the system for replay and later evaluation.
