Description
SOURCES SOUGHT MOBILE TAIL ENCLOSURE This is not a request for proposal. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and it not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. Reimbursement will not be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests. The 97th Contracting Squadron, Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma is looking for sources that can meet the specifications below for a KC-135 Mobile Tail Enclosure. All companies that can meet the specifications are encouraged to provide lead-time requirements, product brochures, company capabilities, and any other information that the Government should consider. All responses are due to the 97th Contracting Squadron, by COB, 30 March 2006 (CST). All information in response to this sources sought announcement shall be e-mailed or faxed to the same by 30 Mar 06. The following is the technical description of the requirement: 1. KC-135 Mobile Tail Enclosure (MTE): a. Must be able to provide an enclosed environment in which to perform Isochronal inspections. b. Must allow aircraft to be jacked in the KC-135 Bay of Hangar c. Must be approximately 75? wide x 78? high x 50? deep d. Must have high intensity lights e. Must have a deluge sprinkler system for fire protection f. Must be mounted on tires that can be moved with an aircraft tug g. Must provide a ?tight? mate-up between the MTE and hangar h. All electrical work meedts National Electrical Codes i. Must be able to withstand average wind speeds of 19 knots j. Must be able to withstand temperatures as high as 110 degrees F k. Must be able to withstand up to 1.5 inch hail stones l. Must be able to withstand freezing temperatures as low as 20 degrees F
