- Description
- A sole source procurement is contemplated with The Boeing Company (Boeing), St. Louis, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis MO 63166-3455. Boeing is the only qualified source to conduct this effort as it requires full and open access to Small Diameter Bomb Increment I (SDB I) proprietary information and hardware, which is held by Boeing. There is a need for SDB I engineering design, integration and test support to the Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. The SDB I engineering design, integration and test support will facilitate the Focused Lethality Munitions (FLM) quick reaction risk mitigation program. The FLM program will design and test a low collateral damage variant of the SDB I warhead consisting of a composite warhead case and Dense Inert Metal Explosive payload. Testing will consist of case structural tests, static detonation tests and gun-launched/sled-launched concrete penetration tests. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties may submit statements of capability (SOC) demonstrating their experience with proprietary SDB I engineering design, integration and test. The estimated period of performance is approximately 10 months. The estimated funding for this effort is approximately $600K. Submit within 30 days of publication, to Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/MNK), Attn: Donna Moran, 101 West Eglin Blvd, Suite 337, Eglin AFB FL 32542-6810. For technical information contact Don Cunard, AFRL/MNMW, at (850) 865-3411 or 850 882-7994, for contractual questions contact Donna Moran, Contracts Specialist at (850) 883-2676.
