- Furnish all labor, equipment, transportation, and materials for bridge abutment repairs to the Whitaker Bridge which crosses the Blackfoot River in Missoula County, approximately 25 miles east of Missoula, Montana. Work will consist of removal and disposal of existing timber abutment and wing walls, construction of new reinforced concrete abutment, and related site work. Work on this project shall commence on September 5, 2006 and shall be completed within 46 days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. The start and completion dates for this work cannot be negotiated. Estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. A 100 percent payment protection will be required for contracts greater than $25,000. Payment protection will be due PRIOR to issuance of the Notice to Proceed and can be submitted by an Irrevocable Letter of Credit, Certificate of Deposit, or Payment Bond. A tentative site visit will be scheduled during the week of April 16, 2006. Section L of the specifications will cite the exact date, time, and place. PROSPECTIVE CONTRACTORS PLEASE NOTE: In order to properly submit a quote on this requirement, contractors must possess a copy of the manual titled, Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects, FP-03 U.S. Customary Units - U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration. Basis for this requirement is that the specifications to being sent during the week of April 4, 2006, will only be a SUPPLEMENT to this manual. When designated in a contract, the FP-03 becomes a part of the contract and binding upon all parties to the contract. This interest announcement should not be construed in any manner to be an obligation to the Bureau of Land Management to reimburse any costs for obtaining the required manuals in responding to the Request for Quotations.
