- In response to the question received on 3/15/2006: Section 3.1.3.9 - Is the Navy providing a GPS timing signal via IRIG to the DVLRS or does the vendor need to generate this signal? The Navy provides satellite timing. The ship's NAVSSI subsystem or AN/WRN-6(V) Satellite Radio Set is commonly used, however there are some functional equivalent receivers in use. The NAVSSI, navigation receiver, or its equivalent will be the origin of the time synchronization signal used by the DVLRS, and in most cases, the havequick format is used.
