- NASA/GRC has a requirement for Quantity 21 each, 1/4" Free Field Microphones Type 4939, and Quantity. 6 each, 1/4" Microphone Preamplifiers Type 2670. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Bruel & Kjaer, the only source that can provide the replacement parts in the existing Nexus power and preamplifier system to maintain calibration, system diagnostics and operation, and data validity over time. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in FAR Part 13. The sole source is under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 3/24/2006. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
