- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command; Aircraft Support Contracts Department (AIR 2.5.1.3), Patuxent River, MD 20670-1127 announces its intent to procure on a competitive basis, under the (CACCS) program, H-53 Crash Attenuating Crew Chief Seat systems utilizing Non-Developmental Items (NDI), to be procured, integrated, and installed into the H-53 aircraft. The seat system must include seat, restraint system, energy attenuator, seat-to-aircraft installation and airframe reinforcement hardware, and the associated supporting technical documentation including reliability and maintainability data and product level drawings. The Government, through Navy facilities, will structurally qualify the selected seat system integration. System qualification shall include all interface hardware and any airframe modifications required to adapt the CACCS to the H-53 helicopters. The contract type is anticipated to be an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract, with firm-fixed price (FFP) and/or cost plus fixed fee (CPFF) type line items. The term of the contract is anticipated to be five years with base contract line item numbers (CLINs) and option CLINs with performance commencing approximately September 2006. The standard industrial code for this requirement is 3728. It is the Government’s intent to award a single contract to the offeror who provides the best overall value to the Government, cost and non-cost factors considered. The Government anticipates release of a draft electronic RFP on/or about 06 April 2006 and plans to hold an Industry day on/or about 4 May 2006. In addition, the Government intends to release an electronic RFP on/or about 18 May 2006, with an anticipated closing date of 19 June 2006.
