Description

Intent to Sole Source Capron Corporation, Inc. The U. S. Department of the Interior, National Business Center/GovWorks, on behalf of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Washington, D.C., intends to make a firm-fixed price, sole source award to Capron Company Inc., Rockville, MD, for the retrofit, repair and installation of Direct Digital Control (DDC) Temperature Control System additions to automatically control the operation of the Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning System at two of their facilities, in Washington, D.C. This non-competitive action is being issued by GovWorks under the authority of the U. S. Department of Interior Franchise Fund on behalf of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, (AFIP) Specifically, Capron Company, Inc. is the sole representative of the "Cylon Controls Building Automation System" in North America, and consequentially, the Washington, DC area. There is no other known organization authorized to perform modifications, service or maintenance on this system. Statutory authority for the sole source is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements". The contract period will be 120 day. Offerors able to provide the required service are invited to identify their interest and ability to meet the requirements by submitting a qualifications and capabilities statement and any other information which shows a bona fide ability to meet this requirement. If no affirmative responses are received by Friday, 31 Mar 2006 to determine that a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available, a contract will be awarded to the aforementioned source. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. No solicitation documents exist and requests for such documents will be considered non-responsive and not accepted.
