Description: USDA Forest Service, CASTLE BROOK ROAD BRIDGES 3.9 & 5.0, Green Mountain National Forest, Bennington County, VT. Government estimate - $250,000 - $500,000. Any technical questions - Brian Austin, 802-747-6757. Contract performance period: July 1, 2006 -October 28, 2006. Work includes removing 2-existing bridges; placement of new concrete waste block abutments; placement of the new steel beam and glued laminated timber deck superstructures, and reconstruction of the channel and approaches. No pre-bid meeting will be conducted. Bidders are encouraged to visit the job site, located in the township of Glastenbury, VT - accessed from Vermont Route 9 via Forest Road 71 (Somerset Road) in Searsburg, VT. The bridges are located at mileposts 3.9 and 5.0.
