Description
The 55th Contracting Squadron cordially invites all interested parties to the Defense Technical Information Center?s (DTIC) Information Analysis Centers (IACs) Industry Day. The Industry Day will be held to provide businesses with information on the IACs contracts and to enhance business relationships. DoD IACs function as specialized subject focal points for scientific, technical and operational support information (STOSI). Each of the IACs operate with a core budget for basic operations, including library operations, responses to data inquires, and several technology assessment products per year. A special feature of these contracts is the ability to perform Technical Area Tasks (TATs) in the area of the IAC?s specialization. These tasks can be extensive technical assessments, support for workshops and conferences, or bench research and development. TATs are customer funded and can be awarded non-competitively during the life of an IAC contract. Several IACs have very extensive (multiple millions of dollars per year) TAT funding. Customer TAT volume has become one way for DTIC to assess and communicate the value of IACs to the DoD. Some of the products produced by the IACs are State-of-the-Art Reports (SOARs), Abstracts & Indexes, Bibliographic Search Records, Critical Technical Reviews & Assessments (CRTAs), Newsletters & Current Literature, Referrals to Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs) and Scientific & Engineering Databases, Handbooks and References Works. The IAC program operates in accordance with DoD 3200.14, Principals and Operational Parameters of the DoD Scientific and Technical Information Program, 13 May 1997. This document may be accessed online at http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/ corres/html/320014.htm. Enclosure 5 of DoD 3200-14 provides a formal overview of the IAC program including the functions and responsibilities of IACs. Industry Day will be held on April 20, 2006 at the Peter Kewitt Conference Center, in Omaha NE. Registration is required due to space constraints and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. No more than two individuals from each company will be allowed to attend and the government may close registration when attendance nears capacity. Registration form requests can sent to Alan.Brady@offutt.af.mil and Sarah.Davis@offutt.af.mil or faxed to (402) 294-7280, and must be returned with registration $45 fee no later than close of business, 13 April 06.
