Description

It is the Governments intent to seek a sole source contract with the original equipment manufacturer of the Test Set, Radar: TS-4530/UPM (RTS), currently under a production contract (US Army Aviation and Missile Command Contract number DAAH01-02-D-00 40), for the purpose of developing an engineering change proposal (ECP) to modify the RTS capabilities to include Mode 5 cryptography. The ECP shall utilize the current technology incorporated in the RTS, minimize replacement hardware, and maintain its cu rrent weight within 3-4 pounds. Three proto-type modification kits shall be produced through this ECP. They shall be required to demonstrate conformity for installation into the RTS, demonstrate Soldier installation capability, pass environmental stress screening requirements once installed. All sustainment needs shall be upgraded, to include updating all affected and previously delivered logistical data items. The modified RTS shall be bench and weapon platforms tested for conformity to the latest Depa rtment of Defense (DoD) Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System /Identification Friend or Foe (IFF)/Mark XII Electronic Identification System (AIMS) Program Office (PO) documents. The modified RTS shall meet all AIMS PO requirements for Certification of a ll IFF Modes of operation.
