Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the Plant Division, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Technical Sales & Marketing, Inc. (dba Sensor-Controls) of Trenton, NJ for preventative maintenance service for Sierra Monitor ?Sentry? Gas Detection Controllers and Sensor Modules (including a base year and four 1-year option periods). This determination is based on Sensor-Controls being the sole authorized Sierra Monitor Service or Calibration Representative in the geographical area consisting of Metro Philadelphia, Baltimore and the District of Columbia. Therefore, Sensor-Controls is the only source authorized by the original equipment manufacturer, Sierra Monitor Corporation, to provide preventative maintenance for this equipment. Sierra Monitor Corporation does not allow other companies to provide such a service. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 423840, and the size standard is 500. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by April 4, 2006 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
