- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source firm fixed priced purchase order to Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc., Hercules, CA, the only known provider for the VERSADOC 4000 PC System and is offering a substantial discount to the CDC. Bio-rad is the only known company that can provide future upgrade parts to the VERSADOC 4000 PC to fit the possible expanded needs of the Division of Vector-Borne Infectious Disease. In addition, Bio-Rad has offered a substantial discounts on the required equipment. It is the Government?s believe that only one responsible source exists and no other product or services will satisfy agency requirements. Shipment will only be accepted Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST with the exception of Federal Government holidays. The following items are needed by the National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID), Division of Vector-Borne Infectious Disease along with a one-year/12 month warranty from system installation date: Item #1) VERSADOC 4000 PC and installation Item #2.) Computer System (1707368) with a Pentium 4, 2.8GHz with 1 MB cahe, 40 GB hard drive, 512 MB RAM upgradable to 4 GB, 48x32x48x CD-RW, Intel GMA9000 integrated video card, 10/100/1000 Ethernet card, 1 serial port, 1 parallel port, 1 VGA monitor connection, 8 USB ports, Windows XP pro installed, includes 17 inch LCD monitor, MS Office NOT included. Monitor (MEC Multisync LCD 1550V) Item #3.) Mitsubishi P93W printer Item #4.)UV/WHT LT.CONV.SCREEN. The proposed contract action is for commercial items which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR subpart 27.4. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE.
