Description
CONTRACTING OFFICE ADDRESS: Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Contracting Division, 110 9th Avenue South, Room A-604, Nashville, TN 37203. DESCRIPTION: This solicitation is issued as a request for quotation for small business set-aside utilizing the associated NAICS code 333612. Solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular. Provi sion at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors  Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. Offerors shall include with their offer a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items. Clauses 52.2 12-4, Contract Terms and Conditions  Commercial Items, and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders  Commercial Items, are applicable to this acquisition. The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ), W912P5-06-T-0015, for the acquisition of services to fabricate and deliver 7 parallel, high speed gear boxes for the miter gate machinery and segmental valve m achinery at Ft. Loudon Lock (FLL), Kentucky Lock (KYL), Nickajack Lock (NICL), and Watts Bar Lock (WBL) in accordance with the plans and specifications. The order of priority for fabrication of all the gear boxes are as follows: 1. Watts Bar Lock gate re ducer, 2. Ft. Loudon Lock gate reducer, 3. Kentucky Lock gate reducer, 4. Nickajack Lock gate reducer, 5. Watts Bar Lock valve, 6. Ft. Loudon Lock valve, and 7. Kentucky Lock valve. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract based on best value. The Government intends to award this solicitation as a base contract which will be comprised of the first four priority gear boxes, with options to award the last three priority gear boxes before October 30, 2006. Offerors shall only submit their cost and data information on the attached cost and data sheets. Alternative cost offers will not be evaluated. Upon award, the successful offer shall make a site visit to all 7 sites to field verify all dimensions. Scheduling POC for these site visits will be Mr. Tom Hood, tele: (865) 986-0286. A final factory acceptance test must be performed at the factory before the project is considered complete. The contractor shall be responsible for delivering to the site the new gearboxes with all administra tive requirements specified in the technical specifications. No installation is required for this solicitation. The contractor will be evaluated on their (1) technical capability, (2) costs, and (3) past performance. This information shall include the a ttached cost and data sheets, and the experienced data shall not exceed three typed pages, 8 ? x 11, 12 point font. All offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (www.ccr.gov) in order to be awarded a Government contract.
