Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City (NSWC PC) has a requirement for components to support the Supplied Air Respirator. The main components of the SAR are the Primary Air Supply Pack (PASP) and Reserve Air Supply Pack (RASP). These units serve as the external air source for the SCBA user(s). The air travels to the SCBA user(s) (up to four users) from the PASP control panel assembly via interconnecting air-supply hose(s). Within the potentially hazardous space, the user remains connected to the PASP by use of the interconnecting hoses. Should the airflow from the PASP become inadequate, the user will activate the SCBA and exit the space. The SAR/SCBA is a Type C, pressure demand system as defined by NIOSH.
