Description

Perform repairs and convert barge into a platform for testing ballast water in the Great Lakes region. Includes towing barge from James River Reserve Fleet, Fort Eustis, VA to contractor’s facility (where work will be performed), minor repairs, cargo tank cleaning, surface preparations and coatings, piping and machinery system replacement/testing, modification of deckhouses, fabrication/installation of equipment foundations and raised platforms, electrical wiring, and cleaning/refurbishment of tanks. Includes options for towing barge from contractor’s facility to final destination in Duluth, MN or returning the barge to Fort Eustis, VA. The IFB and any related documents for this procurement will be available for downloading on the Federal Business Opportunities website on/about 02/17/2006. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
