Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with Comcast Cablevision of Maryland, 8031 Corporate Drive, Baltimore, MD 21236 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 253?(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements for the continued maintenance and support of the CATV Port Distribution System and related accessories. This requirement is an expansion of an existing Purchase Order SSA has with Comcast Cablevision of Maryland. The support shall be required from date of award until October 13, 2006. The contractor shall extend existing services from SSA Operations Building 6401 Security Boulevard to SSA 2555 Lord Drive, Baltimore, Maryland. Comcast shall provide SSA CATV (to include ABC Baltimore, FOX 45, CSPAN1, CSPAN2, CSPAN3, NBC Baltimore, Maryland Public TV, CBS Baltimore, PBS Washington, CNBC, MSNBC, The Weather Channel, FOX News Network, CNN, CNN Headline News, SSA IVT Studios 1 -7, SSATV Informational Channel, and Channels 56, 57, and 58 as spare Channels) to Windsor Park Building with approximately 6-10 drops within the facility. This is not a request for quote; quotes submitted in response to this notice will not be considered. Interested parties that believe they can provide the required service must respond to this notice no later than 5:00 p.m. EST March 27, 2006. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to SSA-RFQ-06-1276. Responses should be emailed to Kristin.Taylor@ssa.gov OR addressed to the Social Security Administration, Office of Acquisition and Grants, Attn: Kristin Taylor, 7111 Security Blvd, 1st Floor Rear Entrance, Baltimore, MD, 21244. FAXED RESPONSES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information submitted. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged.
