- The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center is seeking qualified sources capable of supplying Main Diesel Engine Upgrade Kits: (1) Stock Number 2815-01-F06-0843, Part Number 16612245, estimated 7 each; and (2) Stock Number 2815-01-F06-0844, Part Number 16612246, estimated quantity 9 each. Kits shall be used to upgrade the Main Diesel Engines installed onboard the 140? WTGB Coast Guard vessels. Substitute part numbers shall not be acceptable. It is the Government belief that only Fairbanks Morse, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and/or their authorized distributors can supply these kits. The Government did not procure the technical and engineering data rights to provide with the solicitation to allow the manufacturing of each part contained in each kit, therefore it is the Government?s belief that only Fairbanks Morse Engine, and/or their authorized distributors, can supply these kits and can ensure the correct parts are supplied in each kit and that each component within the kit is the proper form, fit, and function to ensure compatibility with the existing Fairbanks Morse Model 38D8 1/8 Engines. Concerns having the expertise and required capabilities to furnish the above kits were invited to submit their capabilities in the Sources Sought notice published in FedBizOpps on March 20, 2006. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which, if timely received, shall be considered by the Agency. Request For Proposal (RFP) Number HSCG40-06-R-60026 shall be available for download from FedBizOpps (www.eps.gov) on or about May 5, 2006. This date is estimated at best. The closing date for receipt of proposals is contingent upon the release of the RFP package, but is estimated to be June 2, 2006. Numbered Notes 12 and 22.
