Description
NAICS Code: 811219 The U.S. EPA National Homeland Security Research Center, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b) with Qiagen, Inc. for a preventive maintenance agreement for a BioRobot 3000 Serial No.A3180, and a Bio Robot 8000 Serial No. A3305. The Contractor shall provide one preventive maintenance call and unlimited on-site field service calls for a Qiagen BioRobot 3000 (serial number A3180) and a Qiagen BioRobot 8000 (serial number A3205) located in the Andrew W, Breidenbach Environmental Research Center. The purpose of this agreement is to maintain these BioRobots according to factory specifications and to extend the warranty period. All non-consumable parts, labor, and travel costs are to be covered by this agreement. The period of this agreement will be for 1 year with an option for 2 additional years. The Contractor is to provide a warranty on all parts installed at the end of this contract. Such warranty on parts shall be effective for a minimum of ninety (90) days following installation of such parts on covered equipment. This notice is not a request for quotations. EPA source research indicates Qiagen Inc., is the only known contractor with the appropriate level of technical knowledge necessary to complete this project. However, any firm believing itself capable of meeting this EPA requirement may submit technical documentation to established the potential of completing such work. Any such documentation must be submitted within 15 days of electronic posting of this notice (before April 14, 2006 5:00 PM EST). A determination not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed on a sole source basis. The applicable NAICS Code is 811219 .
