Description
NOTICE: THIS NOTICE WAS PREVIOUSLY POSTED UNDER REFERENCE-NUMBER RES-05-090. THE ONLY CHANGES THAT TAKE PLACE IS THE PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE IS NOW ONE YEAR IN LIEU OF FOUR YEARS AND THE NOTICE NUMBER IS REVISED TO RES-06-049. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to award a sole source contract to Oregon State University (OSU), 130 Radiation Center, Corvallis, Oregon 97331-5902. The title of the project is "APEX Steam Generator Thermal Hydraulic Tests." Specifically, OSU will be required to conduct a series of reflux condensation tests using the steam generators in the APEX facility. The experimental data is to provide a basis to assess TRACE steam generator modeling techniques and to assist in the development of improved models for condensation and steam generator thermal-hydraulics. The tests will also provide data on the effect of non-condensible gases for the primary side steam generator condensation. The contractor shall provide all labor and materials necessary to prepare the test facility (including instrumentation) for testing, develop the test procedures for the testing, and following execution of the test procedures, qualify test data, and report on the results. The NRC intends to award a cost reimbursement contract with a one year period of performance. No solicitation document exists. Interested firms should submit written responses that provide evidence of the respondent's capability to perform the required services to the NRC, at the address shown, no later than April 14, 2006. Capability statements that do not demonstrate evidence of the respondent's ability to provide these services will not be considered.
