- Written proposals for Factors 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 has been extended from 11:00 AM, Eastern Time 31 March 2006 to 11:00 AM, Eastern Time 5 April 2006. We cannot respond to any further questions that are simply informational in nature since the deadline for submittal has passed. Please see additional questions and answers. Offerors will be contacted after evaluation to schedule oral presentations. Oral presentations are tentatively scheduled for the 2nd week of April 2006. Offers shall be submitted elec tronically to gay.hayden2@det.amedd.army.mil by the closing date and files should submitted utilizing Microsoft Office products or in PDF format, zip files are not authorized. Questions and Answers: 1. Who is the Offeror mentioned several times in the Sol icitation? Sometimes it seems to be TATRC and sometimes it seems to be the contractor. A: Offeror is the vendor. 2. Is AutoCad a requirement in order to complete this project? A: No. It's provided simply as a tool if the vendor wants to use it. 3. Als o, when Mr. Speer took us on the walk thru on March 16th the restrooms and lobby, etc this small section was not part of the actual walk thru. Are we responsible for any design or deliveries in that section? A: Nothing is required for the restrooms. Ev erything else is included for wall decorations. 4. Wall decoration or actually nothing at all? A. See above answer. 5. Carpet - I know the name and number of the carpet, but, who is the manufacturer? A. The Philadelphia Collection from Shaw, a Berkshir e Hathaway Company. RE: Floor Tiles - are they ceramic? If not, what are they? A: Vinyl 6. I would assume that the floor is either having carpet or tile, could you please tell me which areas have the tile? A: Floor Plan identifies carpet and viny l tile areas. 8. Furniture - Did the decision go in favor of new furniture? or is used furniture likely to be proposed by some of the contractors? A: Only new furniture will be acceptable. 9. Main Entry, the main entry was mentioned in the walkthru, this is also part of the decorative needs, correct? A. Yes. 10. What is the floor covering in the entry? A. Vinyl tile 11. Storage/Lab - Are any of the 22 to 28 spoken of in the Solicitation, people who will be permanently working in the Storage/Lab on a daily basis? A. No workstations. It will contain lab benches and storage shelves provided by the government. 12. What is the function of the Storage/Lab Area? A. Storage and computer workbenches 13. Is this where the workbench is listed? How man y workbenches vs how much storage? A. Vendors not responsible for equipping the file, storage, workbench room. 14. Is there a ratio for Storage vs. Lab use? A: See answer for Q #17 15. RE: Network & Communication Cable Work Questions, who supplies th e (2) 48-Port Patch Panels and racks for the server closet? A: Government provided and installed. 16. I know that data and voice cables are to be run to, general work area, the copy/print area, (2) senior offices, (2) conference rooms, reception/adminis trative assistant area, guest workstation area, correct? A. Correct 17. What about the lunchroom? A. No 18. If in the storage/lab, how many drops? A: Five 19. And how many drops are there to be in the guest workstation? A: One 20. Do you know how many drops total? A: No. Will depend on vendor's design and how many workstations are proposed. 21. RE: Electric - Who is responsible for wiring the electricity to the modular wall electric pigtail? A: Vendor 22. Actually, is the Ft. Detrick ele ctrician responsible for all the electrical work in this solicitation? Or are there some areas of electrical wiring that we the contractors are responsible for? A. See answer to Q #25 above. 23. The electric power poles are provided by me the contract or, correct? A: Yes 24. Do we (the contractor) supply the data pole, or is it a combo electric/data pole? A: Vendor provides data and power poles. Data lines must be separated from power lines by at least 2 inches. 25. RE: General Area - What is the approximate number of people to be using work stations in that large area? A: As per the SOW, the maximum number of stations that the space will accommoda te with each station having a 3 foot corner section and a minimum of 7 linear feet of flat work surface in addition to the corner. 26. I assumed 24 or 25, but, some of the 22 to 28 could be in the Lab all day, every day, correct? A: No. There will be no workstations in the File/Storage/Lab room and it will be occupied intermittently 27. RE: Copy/Print Area - The drawing shows in the Copy/Print area a work table, is this in the drawing just to indicate that that's what you are looking for the contracto r to provide or is that work table actually going to be provided by TATRC there? I realize that the actual equipment such as the copiers, printers, etc. are going to be supplied by TATRC. I just wondered about the table? A. Vendor to provide work table and mail distribution boxes that will sit on the table. The only numbered note that applies to this solicitation is Note #1 - 100% small business set-aside.
