Description
Sherman Creek Restoration Project. The Colville National Forest requires the construction of log and rock structures in Sherman Creek. The logs will be cut in timber stands adjacent to Sherman Creek and transported by log forwarder to the specific locations were they will be used. Some trees will need to be pushed over with a tracked excavator, so that the stumps will remain attached to the log for use in some of the log structures. The work will involve dewatering segments of Sherman Creek, excavation in the streambed and banks of Sherman Creek, clearing operations and placing large rock in the streambed. The services will be located in Ferry County, Washington. To get to the project site, from the town of Kettle Falls, one should proceed west on US 395 to the junction with State Route 20 at Barney?s Junction, on the west side of the Columbia River. Then one should continue to proceed west on SR 20 to the Log Flume Heritage Site and the project location. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, tools, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to perform the work in accordance with the specification, clauses and provisions of the contract. Estimated start work date is July 15, 2006, with a completion date of 30 calendar days from the notice to proceed This project will be advertised as a written quotation and will be solicited under the Simplified Acquisition Procurement (SAP) rules. The NAICS code is 237990 and size stand is $31 million. The project is 100 percent, small business set-aside. The estimated price range is between $25,000 to $100,000. An Alternate Payment Protection (payment bond) will be required after award. The estimated issue date is April 19, 2006, with quotations estimated to be due May 10, 2006. The actual due date will be listed in the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered. The solicitation will be posted electronically at this web site when it issues.
