Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with The Raytheon Company (cage 94404), Portsmouth, RI 02871 for the development and integration of componets for two Engineering Development Models (EDMs) of a Dipping Sonar with a computer processing and display system to produce a UVS Dipping Sonar (UDS) Mission System which utilized the ALFS dipping sonar as its acoustic sensor, which will also include logistics, training source material, source data for techincals, sustaining engineering and ALFS Design Agent Support. The UDS Mission System is intended to be integrated with a USV to form a UDS Mission Module. The UDS Mission Module is intended to become an integral element of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) ASW Mission Package The acquisition is for integration of a sonar system for which the Government does not own specifications or drawings. The technical data and drawings for the ALFS are proprietary to Raytheon Company, Portsmouth, RI. NAWCADLKE intends to procure this sonar system under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. No solicitation package is available for this procurement. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See note 22.
