Description
The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate with the Doubletree Hilton Suites Chicago to provide the necessary services for a conference to be held in downtown Chicago, IL from June 27, 2006 through June 29, 2006. Sleeping rooms will not be part of this acquisition, as attendees will be responsible for making their own reservations for sleeping rooms. However, the facility must be able to accommodate 175 sleeping rooms for the nights of the conference. The facility must be able to provide meeting room/ballroom space to accommodate approximately 175 participants for plenary sessions, five soundproof breakout session rooms (each 700 sq ft), and audiovisual equipment to include LCD projectors, screens, electrical cords, carts, microphone and podium, flipcharts, and flipchart paper and markers. The facility must also be able to provide full catering services for morning and afternoon breaks, one evening reception, and two lunches. The facility must be in compliance with the basic safety and ADA requirements recorded in the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS, sections 4-9) and the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG). Prospective contractors shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database prior to award of a contract. Information regarding this registration can be found at http://www.ccr.gov/. Offerors will be required to complete either a paper copy of the Representations and Certifications or may complete them online at http://orca.bpn.gov) in responding to this requirement. This acquisition will be conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 regarding the acquisition of commercial items. This acquisition is non set-aside. The North American Industry Code (NAIC) is 721110. Solicitation SSA-RFQ-05-06-0007 will be available for downloading on or about April 17, 2006. No hard copies of the solicitation will be available. Prospective offerors who believe they may be capable of providing the services described herein shall submit a capability statement to the Contracting Officer no later than 3:00 PM CDT on Monday, April 17, 2006. The capability statement shall provide sufficient detail to allow the Contracting Officer to ascertain the offerors ability to provide the required services.
