- Description
- Work consists of converting 41 acres of previously harvested timber units into savannahs on the Greenbrier Ranger District of the Monongahela National Forest. Equipment will be used on ridge top terrain that is generally not steep. Equipment will be used to grade, remove large rocks, clear brush, and small timber, and push/pile slash and debris into brush piles. Stumps from trees (including 24" + dbh trees) will be grubbed out and placed in brush piles. Once completed, the entire area of each savannah will be regraded and lime and fertilizer applied. A seed mix will be spead over savannahs and covered by sufficient soil to protect the seed and promote germination. The work will be performed between June 1 and July 28, 2006.
