- Description
- The Broadcasting Board of Governors/International Broadcasting Bureau (BBG/IBB), Office of Contracts, Simplified Acquisition Branch (M/CON/SA) intends to solicit, negotiate and award a Purchase Order (Contract) on a sole source basis with Communications & Power Industries, Inc. (CPI) Satcom Division, 2045 Route 35 South, Suite #101, South Amboy, NJ 08879 for the replacement parts and labor to repair a 2.25 kW CPI, High Power Amplifier. The NAICS code is 811213. The following contract line items will be procured to repair CPI Model Number VZC6965B2: Item 1. 103034500, Traveling Wave Tube (TWT), Quantity: 1 Each; Item 2. 102001002, Power Processor Board, Quantity: 1 Each; Item 3. 101954000, Controller Board, Quantity: 1 Each; Item 4. 102973701, Motor Controller, Quantity: 1 Each; Item 5. 101879800, Circuit Breaker, Quantity: 1 Each; Item 6. Labor, Quantity: 1 Service. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition applicable to this procurement is FAR Subpart 6.302-1, 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1), which permits other than full and open competition When the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source. CPI is the manufacturer and only known supplier that can both provide the replacement parts and labor to repair the 2.25 kW, High Power Amplifier. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive price quotations. Interested firms or persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government must receive all such statements of interest by close of business 4 PM EST, Monday, February 13, 2006 and shall reference RFQ No. CON-06-0011 to be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order (contract) based upon responses to this Notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any information received from interested firms/persons responding to this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
