- Description
- The Maritime Administration is seeking technical and administrative support as the Engineering Management Oversight Services (EMOS) contractor for planning and project management of the Decommissioning, Decontamination and radiological Remediation (DDR) of the primary nuclear reactor and associated components aboard the Nuclear Ship Savannah. The period of performance will be base year with up to eight one-year options. The technical efforts to be performed by the contractor will be in support of three distinct phases associated with the DDR process of the nuclear reactor and its components. These phases are: Phase I – Pre-decommissioning (Planning and Schedule) Phase II – Decommissioning – Industrial Activities (Monitoring and Oversight) Phase III – Post Decommissioning (License Termination and Facility Lay-Up) The Maritime Administration anticipates issuing the solicitation for this procurement on or about 27 April 2006. Offerors are hereby advised that the Request for Proposal (RFP) DTMA1R06008 and any related documents for this procurement will be made available to interested parties through electronic media. This RFP will be available for downloading via the Internet at the U.S. Maritime Administration’s Virtual Office of Acquisition Website at http://voa.marad.dot.gov. Paper copies of the RFP will not be made available. Only electronic proposals will be accepted, in order to submit a proposal, offerors must register on the VOA website and submit their proposal electronically. Potential offerors will be responsible for monitoring the Internet site for the release of all pertinent procurement documents. It is anticipated that proposals will be due on or about 30 May 2006. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. The Maritime Administration will host a site visit onboard the N. S. SAVANNAH on Tuesday 9 May 2006 and a pre-proposal conference will be held on Wednesday 10 May 2006. Please refer to the VOA website for instructions for registering for these two events. Technical information subject to export controlled information (ECI) provisions such as drawings or pictures will not be provided by the Maritime Administration prior to contract award. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts. Maximum line of credit is $750,000 with interest at the prime rate, as published daily in the Wall Street Journal, plus 1.75 percent. For further information, call (800) 532-1169.
