Description

Food and Drug Administration intends to award a sole source purchase order to Food Chemical News, for FDA Biosciences Library subscription renewal. The subscription includes online access, various print newsletters and guides. Food Chemical News produces publications that are extremely relevant to the work of FDA reviewers and other Agency staff. It provides complete summaries of food regulatory activity in the Federal Register and the Congressional Record, as well as reports from hearings. It also contains complete data on food product recalls, Warning letters, meetings and conferences. Other information provided includes direct and indirect food additives, Substances Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS), prior sanctioned substances, substances specifically banned from use in food by the FDA, substances exempted from tolerance requirements as inert ingredients in pesticide formulations, color additives for foods, drugs, medical devices and cosmetics, additives used in animal and poultry feeds, and substances deemed to be GRAS by FEMA. Benefits from this resource include time savings, easy access, and easy integration into other systems. There is no other known source of this customized package with content tailored towards FDA reviews. NO SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTABLE. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1; Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services shall satisfy the agency’s requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within five (5) days from the publication date of this notice will be considered by the government solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
