Description
This announcement is notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Subject: Sole Source for Service, Supply and Install and warrant additional access control point (ACP) vehicular automation equipment at Fort Hood, Texas, as an extension of an on-going, Army sanctioned security test to alleviate the guard cost while incr easing security, through automation means, at the remaining 19 ACPs. Integrate the ACP automation system (Phantom Express) into the existing security systems at Fort Hood, Texas, Control No. W9126G-06-HOOD. Opening and Closing Response Date: April 13, 2006 Contact Point: Ali Marshall, Contract Specialist, 817.886.1068 Contract Award Dollar Amount: $2,000,000 Contractor: Shane Gelling Co., 98 Prospect Avenue, Sea Cliff, NY Description: The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice is to meet the requirement for service, supply, install a nd warrant additional access control point (ACP) vehicular automation equipment at Fort Hood, Texas. The requirement herein is an extension of an on-going, Army sanctioned security test to alleviate the gate guard cost while increasing security, through a utomation means, at the remaining 19 ACPs. The contractor shall integrate the ACP automation system (Phantom Express) into the existing security systems at Fort Hood, TX. The contractor shall use proprietary software, which was originally developed to s upport this pilot project. The period of performance is approximately five (5) months. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to meet the governments requirement, no later than the closing date of the announcement. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit a quotation to the Government for consideration. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a comp etitive procurement. Any contractor who believes they have the capability to meet the qualification may submit, for consideration by the government, a statement of capability which shall explicitly list the vendors equipment, knowledge, and past experien ce in fulfilling the requirement described herein. Comments are due by April 14, 2006, at 2 PM, CST. The posting of this announcement will remain for a period of no less than ten days. If no comments are received by the closing date, a purchase order wil l be issued to the above named sole source.
