Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Electronic Proving Ground, Fort Huachuca, Arizona is soliciting proposals for the following requirement (Same as or better): Sand Material Elevator for the Evironmental Test Bed Syste m, to include: This elevator must have the capability to move sand type material at the same smoothly variable rate and up to the maximum rate of the specifications when the elevator is oriented in the completely vertical position for operation; The disch arge spout should be the same (14 ft) as it will drop sand at a 45 degree angle to the top center of an existing (9 ft tall) fan wind system; The elevator is intended to become part of a portable existing wind machine trailer, when our facility safaris to Yuma Proving Ground to provide environmental test support, so lightweight is important - approximately 1600 lbs; Elevator Requirements to be met or exceeded: bulk density  100lbs/cu ft; flow rate required  2200 lbs/hour; inlet height  floor level; disc harge height  14 feet above floor level to reach a 9 foot target, 5 feet away with a 45 degree angle discharge chute; Elevator Specifications to be met or exceeded: height  15.5 feet; discharge spout height  14 feet; flow rate  3000 lbs/hour max with variable flow rate up to max; discharge head  Cast Aluminum, 45 degree angle spout; frame  1 ¼ inch RHS Carbon Steel, painted; Carbon steel casing material; Casing Outside Diameter  3 3/8 inch; Casing Inside Diameter  3 inch; bearings  2 each pillow b lock bearings; carbon steel screw material; 2 ¾ inch screw diameter; 2 ¾ inch screw pitch; 1 inch wide, 2 ¼ inch high intake opening; 5 hp, 230V, 3 phase, inverter duty motor; variable frequency drive motor control. FOB Destination (EPG Environmental Test Facility, Building 82812, Arizona Street, Fort Huachuca, Arizona 85613). Payment will be made by Government Credit Card under Net 30 Terms. Offers are due no later than 1200 hours, Wednesday, 12 April 2006 and shall be submitted electronically at virgin ia.miller@epg.army.mil. EVALUATION CRITERIA / PROCEDURES: Offers will be evaluated based on the following best value criteria in descending order of importance: Meeting the Requirement, Proposed Delivery Schedule, Past Performance and Price. The following FAR provisions apply to this acquisition: 52.212-1, Instruction to Offerors Commercial items, and 52 .212-2, Evaluation of Commercial Items, applies to the acquisition. Offerors shall include a completed copy of FAR provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items, and furnish Offeror's Federal Tax Identification Number, Cage Code, Central Contractor Registration Number, DUNS Number and applicable FSC Codes with this offer.
