Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency [US EPA] Mid-Continent Ecology Division, intends to award a sole source fixed-price acquisition utilizing Federal Acquisition Regulation [FAR] Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to Carl Zeiss Microimaging, Incorporated of Thornwood, New York, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. The purpose of the acquisition is a maintenance service agreement on a Multiphoton Instrument, Model Radiance 2000 KR-3. The NAICS Code for the procurement is 81129. It has been determined that because of the ability of Carl Zeiss MicroImaging, Incorporated to perform this service, they are the only vendor uniquely qualified to meet this requirement. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA?s requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which if received within 15 calendar days of the date of the announcement will be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
