Description

The purpose of the resulting contract is to secure a complete set of services to accomplish stand treatments for a variety of forest health and fuels issues. The work units are spread across the Mystic Ranger district. The contractor shall cut, and in some units remove Products other than Logs (POL). The project contains four bid items and eleven work units totaling 4,419 acres. The contractor shall, considering given resource objectives for the work unit, develop a plan of operations to accomplish these objectives, and organize and direct all of the equipment and personnel needed to fully accomplish the work. The contractor receiving award shall furnish all technical expertise, labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, permits, licenses and incidentals necessary to complete the work required. Biomass material and POL may be purchased from the Government. The resultant contract will be awarded as a single firm-fixed priced, performance based service contract, utilizing Request for Quote procedures. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency. The successful contractor(s) will be chosen through a best value process stated in the solicitation. The performance period is expected to be 730 calendar days. The NAICS code is 115310 with a size standard of $6M. This is a 100% small business set-aside. This is an electronic solicitation only. All documents will be posted to fedbizopps.gov for download from this web site exclusively. The solicitation package is expected to be issued on or about April 24, 2006. Numbered note 1 applies.
