Description

The purpose of this amendment is to respond to questions from industry regarding clarifications of the requirements as follows: 1) Question -- The solicitation includes a requirement for ?1.11 Maximum table weight load capacity 4000 lbs?. Would anything less satisfy the Government?s requirement? Answer -- The Government hereby restates requirement 1.11 as follows: ?Maximum table weight load capacity shall be at least 2000 lbs but not more than 4000 lbs. (The maximum of 4000 lbs is dictated by the maximum load limit that NIST has the ability to get to the Vertical Machining Center) 2) Question -- Does the Government prefer ?Box Ways? or ?Linear Way? construction? Answer -- Either method is acceptable. 3) Question -- What materials does the Government anticipate machining on this equipment? Answer-- For informational purposes only, the Government will primarily machine Aluminum along with some steel and plastics. 4) Question -- The solicitation includes requirements for ?1.21 Rapid speed on all axis 500 inches per minute? and ?1.22 Maximum cut rate of 650 inches per minute?. Why is the rapid speed less than the max cut speed? Answer: The Government inadvertently reversed these requirements. The Government hereby restates requirements 1.21 and 1.22 as follows: 1.21 Rapid speed on all axis 650 inches per minute 1.22 Maximum cut rate of 500 inches per minute 5) All other terms of this solicitation remain unchanged.
